Pipedrive custom fields
The Pipedrive system is fully customizable, especially in the process of managing your sales, customers and prospects.
Some elements such as sales closings, contacts or products, already have predetermined fields, even so it is always possible to modify the fields to document, add, organize and filter the data you require, this addition that you can create is called “Custom Fields”.
It is very important to note that this action is available for administrator users or users with enabled permissions and the amount of Custom Fields will depend on the plan you are working under.
How do I create and modify my custom fields?
To add Custom Fields click on: Settings > Company > Data Fields > Add Custom Field.
There are several elements that you can include: deals, people, companies, or products.

A screen will be displayed where you will have to name this new field and select the type of field you want to create.

If you want to add more Custom Fields you can add them from the Details view of an element by going to Details > Custom Fields > +Add new field.

Every time you add a Custom Field you will get the option to select how you want to view it. You have three possible options:
- Always visible in the details view of deals/persons/organizations/products. Your custom field will always be visible in the detail view of the element, regardless of whether there is an added value or not.
- It appears in the “add deal/person/organization/product” view. The custom field will appear only in the “add new” dialog of the element.
- Important fields. You have the possibility to give more relevance to a field and mark it as “important” in all funnels and stages.

With the “Important fields” function you have the possibility to see the missing data in your primary fields so that you can add them to your Pipedrive account.

To modify your Custom Fields go to Settings > Company > Data Fields, and click on the “…” button next to the custom field you select. When you do this you will have three options drop down:
- Edit. Change the name, properties and important fields of your Custom Field. The Custom Field type is the only one that cannot be modified.
- Delete. Delete the Personalized Field and all its data from your account.
- Copy the API key.

How do I view my custom fields?
If you have already created your Custom Fields you have the possibility to visualize and modify their values in four ways:
- Detail Views
- List Views
- Add New Dialog
- Import
From the Details View

From List View
Access from the gear to the right of the table > select the Custom Field from the list of fields in the Choose Columns > Save function.

From Add New Dialog
Enable the Show in add new dialog option. The Custom Field will appear in the Add new deal / Add new person / Add new organization prompt .

From the “Import” option
Your Custom Fields will be mapped when importing spreadsheets into Pipedrive.
